Career ⁄ Performance Highlights:

  • Born in the Seychelles Islands, Emma attended the "Conservatoire de danse– from the age of six, participating in many Creole and cultural presentations as well as being entered for her I.S.T.D. Modern & Ballet exams
  • At 17 she was awarded a scholarship to train in dance at Merseyside Dance & Drama College but was obliged to complete a compulsory year's National Youth service and a year at polytechnic in the Seychelles before travelling to England
  • As a member of the International Dance group "Girlann– Emma travelled extensively, performing on the international stage
  • Performances with "Girlann' included the "Jeux de la francophonie' in Madagascar, 1996; the 2003 Indian Ocean Festival and birthday party celebrations for royalty and heads of state
  • Emma also appeared in numerous music videos alongside Seychellois artists
  • Emma taught at the Barbara Johnston Dance school in Heswall for 3 years before returning to teach at her old school in the Seychelles for 2 years
  • Emma returned to Staffordshire when she married and has settled, teaching swimming and dance in the local area
