Home » About Rooftop Studios
Established in 1990 by principal Elaine Bird, when it became home to GEMS Youth Theatre Company, Rooftop Studios has developed a reputation for excellence in the training in dance, drama and the performing arts. With an emphasis on making lessons fun and providing the opportunity to perform as often as possible, the studio is now home to three distinct schools; including the only Midlands branch of the prestigious London–based Pop School and Stage Academy (PSSA) performing arts school Little PSSA and Stagecraft Dance school.
The studio was given a full makeover in 2007; creating purpose–built areas for dancing, singing and drama lessons in addition to space for pupils to meet and socialise. In addition to great facilities, the Rooftop Studios' teaching team is made up of individuals who are among the best in their field; combining a lively, fun approach to teaching with backgrounds in professional performance to help inspire confidence and nurture talent in students, with the goal of allowing all to perform to the very best of their ability.
Whether your child is serious about a career in the performing arts or simply wants to enjoy singing, dance and drama as a hobby, Rooftop Studios' unique approach is designed to offer an environment in which they can thrive; making friends and developing confidence along the way.
For those looking to enjoy all–round training in dance, drama and singing with regular opportunities to perform, check out our PSSA (8 – 18 years) and Little PSSA Saturday classes.
