Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are now well into our rehearsals for our forthcoming production ‘HEADLINERS’ and after a meeting with all teachers, it promises to be a thoroughly entertaining show. Every item in the program has made ‘in some way over the years’ a newsworthy headline.

‘Headliners’ will take place at the newly refurbished Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley on the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd of March with a matinee on the 3^rd. Rehearsals will take place from Sunday 26^th to Wednesday 29^th of February. Please see below for the weeks’ schedule. The theatre is walking distance from the new Tesco in Hanley and it has an agreement with them of free parking on show nights. This enables you to park your car in Tesco during the shows providing you punch your registration number and maybe scan your ticket into the facility in the foyer at the theatre. However you will have to adhere to the allotted parking restrictions of Tesco during the rehearsals as the facility is only for show nights – Tesco does have a good cafeteria though!

The photographer for this production will be Brightmore International of Stone. They have kindly agreed to take photographs during your child’s dance sessions on the week commencing 30^th January. This will avoid all of us having to come in on a Sunday. He will be taking group shots and if you would like any solo shots or duets then please inform the class teacher on the day. I am pleased to say the prices of his photographs are so reasonable at £5.50 per copy making it affordable for you to capture a memory in your child’s life. All costumes will be needed for these photographs.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL CHAPERONES

We have had a very good response to our request for chaperones and hopefully you have by now received the application forms from me, filled them in and sent them off to Lorraine Bottomly. If you know the person you put down as a referee please ask them to respond to the letter they receive as soon as possible as this delays the process somewhat. If you could email me on elaine@pssa.co.ukwhen you receive the license and when I hear from most of you I can then organize a quick meeting to arrange which dressing rooms you will be allocated and on which nights you are free.

TIMES FOR SHOW WEEK – ALL AT THE THEATRE

Students need to be brought to the stage door at all times (to the right of the theatre as you stand facing it, keeping left come down to the bottom door at the back of the theatre) to be signed in – DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR as your child may not be signed in. Your child will also need to be collected from here after they have performed.

NO COSTUMES REQUIRED FOR TECHNICAL REHEARSALS

Miss Sara and Miss Emma’s Nursery dance and pre-primary Primary classes are alternating nights - ALL WEEK

SUNDAY 26^th FEB TECHNICAL REHEARSAL 1^ST HALF

12noon -1pm Sara’s Nursery Dance and pre-Primary

1pm-2pm Emma’s Nursery dance, Pre primary and Primary.

2pm – 6pm Everyone in first half,

MONDAY 27^th FEB TECHNICAL REHEARSAL 2^ND HALF 5PM – 9PM

Everyone in 2^nd half not including Sara’s Pre-Primary (done yesterday)
